Welcome to a summer camp where writing and songs come together!

Our Songwriting Camp is for students 7-15 who are excited about composing their own songs! This camp combines a basic overview of instrument fundamentals, the basic of songwriting, rhyme schemes, and written creative expression. Our 12-15 year old group will take a deep dive into figurative language and professional song analysis. On the last day of camp, families are invited to watch the performance. All students will leave with a recording of their song and the experience of a lifetime!

What you can expect:

Songwriting combines creative expression and writing foundationals. This camp will be split into two age groups where they’ll focus on age-appropriate skills & experience aligned engaging activities.

  • Day One: Song of choice analysis and discussing themes. Students will begin composing their own piece!

  • Day Two: Students will continue compositions with introductions of melodies.

  • Day Three: Complete compositions and creating melodies. Students will explore a multitude of available instruments to accompany their piece!

  • Day Four: Students will record their very own song.

  • Day Five: Families are invited for a musical performance!

Learning with Ms. M is partnering with the esteemed Ben Tibbetts of Meadow Lake Music Lessons to host this incredible Songwriting Camp. Ben Tibbetts is a pianist, composer, music teacher and owner of Meadow Lake Music Lessons in Round Rock, TX. Known for his versatility at the keyboard,
Ben has built a career that blends performance, collaboration, and original music-making.

  • Times: 7-11 meets 10-11:30am; 12-15 meets 12-1:30pm

    Cost: $250, $50 deposit due upon enrollment
